UNIKOM's robotics division is an independent research laboratory under the Indonesian Computer University which conducts some research in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence, microcontroller programming, electronics design, electronics control systems, computer vision and image processing programming, computer programming and interfacing, networking, computer hardware And software.
Our team consists of a number of senior alumnus and some students from electrical engineering, computer engineering and informatics engineering which have the same hobby and interest in robotics.
The team's purpose is to explore exciting new technology, learn critical skills, and promote the field of robotics through entering a variety of competitions. Unlike many other student teams in other campuss, the UNIKOM Robotics Team is not formed around any one particular contest. Rather, the team prefers to continually evolve through finding exciting new opportunities for challenge. And whatever we do, UNIKOM's robotics team is always based on the motto: "Fun Education and Technology for Peace".
Robotics Unikom was originally a Student Activity Unit in UNIKOM was established in August 2005. It was first formed by a Lecturer of UNIKOM Mr. Yusrila Yeka Kerlooza. A year later confirmed as a division by UNIKOM Rector.
The first project created by Robotics Unikom at that time was a robot named UBot-B prepared for robot competition KRCI 2005 which became the forerunner of future robot research. Until now, the robotics division of UNIKOM has produced several products either in the form of prototype robot, real robot or other tool and software form which is used for regional, national, international, or industrial robot competition which is used by industry side in Indonesia.
